Charlotte

In late October, 2014, in her Senior year of high school, Charlotte was feeling tired and her mom noticed some terrible bruising on her legs. They rushed to Georgetown Hospital where she was diagnosed with a serious and rare form of leukemia, called APL. She spent almost a year as a patient in the hospital receiving treatment. She studied in the hospital and was able to graduate from high school with her class. In September, 2015, she started her maintenance therapy which lasts two years. She attended the College of Charleston as a Freshman this year. She still takes medication and gets frequent bone marrow biopsies. Her treatment will be finished in November, 2017 and she plans to celebrate!
