Agustin

Agustin

Agustin was finishing another Football season and enjoying his sophomore year in high school when we got his diagnosis. He was diagnosed with T-Cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma January of 2022, and it completely changed all our lives. It’s been over two years that he’s been in treatment with many scary, sleepless nights. However, June of 2024 we can now say that Agustin is a true warrior and has beat Cancer!

Agustin has two older siblings, and we have a 6-year-old Pomeranian named Lolly. We live in Fredericksburg, VA since 2020. We love this city and glad that Agustin will be attending the university in the city (He’ll have the best of the two worlds, living on campus and close to home if he misses us). Agustin is a very talented young man (not saying cause he’s my son), but it’s true. He excels in academics and plays both football and rugby. He graduated with honors from high school and will be attending the University of Mary Washington in the fall of 2024. He plans on studying Business Management and Accounting. Aside from playing sports he is also a HUGE Star Wars fan and plans on joining the “UMW Lightsaber Duels” in the fall.

Due to the side effects of some of the chemotherapy meds he developed neuropathy and “Foot drop”. Agustin has some challenges when walking, just glad and blessed he still able to walk and getting better every day. This phase was certainly a struggle, he started with a wheelchair, then a walker, followed by cane support and now no support other than the occasional use of braces. The braces he uses are not covered by many insurances and thanks to JUST TRYAN it helped us pay for his braces while covering other essential bills. We are blessed and extremely thankful with JUST TRYAN and the support they’ve provided to our family when we needed the most help. As a parent our worst nightmare is to deal with a sick child, but having the burden of financial responsibilities and the affect it has on our household is just horrible during these hard times. JUST TRYAN gave us that relieve, and we were able to hold our heads above water.

We are all so excited for Agustin and blessed that he can start enjoying life and things a teenager should be doing. He looks forward to his freshman year at UMW, playing rugby, football and to his epic Lightsaber Duels. We love Agustin sooooo much and are very proud of him. His remarkable sense of humor, boundless fortitude, and unwavering resilience have shone brightly through every challenge he’s faced. His courage has been a beacon of hope and inspiration.

JUST TRYAN IT provided an emergency relief grant to Agustin’s family, which was used to pay their car payment and phone bill.
