Danielle is 26 and lives in Chicago, Illinois. She is a childhood cancer survivor, diagnosed with ALL T-Cell Leukemia when she was 11 1/2 years old. Her diagnosis came the summer after her first year in middle school and treatment lasted for 2 1/2 years following that day. There were lots of ups and downs during treatment, some were medical, some were school related, some were social, and some were personal. However, Danielle had a strong family support system. In a way, her life has come full circle. Danielle works as an art therapist in a children’s hospital where she interacts mainly with the oncology patients. She hopes in some way she is able to use her past experience as a patient to better others in their cancer journey. Danielle loves sewing, crafting, going to the beach and to the movies and is proud to be an inspiration to the JUST TRYAN IT racers.
