Brij

Brij

“Brij was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer in January 2024. He had emergency surgery and was transferred to Boston for further care where he and his family spent the next month. They have continued treatment at Duke and Brij has shown incredible resilience making it through the last 3 months of chemotherapy. Prior to this illness he was a healthy, active boy who loved to play sports, especially baseball and basketball. His parents, a surgeon and a firefighter, love helping others but have both not been able to work since Brij’s diagnosis.

“Brij is a joyful, funny, and kind friend to all who have the pleasure of knowing him. His smile is infectious and when he laughs it is impossible not to laugh with him. He is the best son and has been the light of our lives since the moment he was born. We are so thankful for the TDS Team for Brij and also for programs like JTI who work so hard to help families dealing with pediatric cancer.”

Brij has raced in our Chapel Hill triathlon in past years and we are excited to host the TDS team racing in honor of him this year.
