Bricelyn

“A little about Bricelyn- she was a competitive swimmer for about 10 years, starting on her neighborhood swim team and then progressing to a swim association where she competed monthly and practiced 6 days a week! She has a fraternal twin sister named Camdyn, a sophomore at Appalachian State College in Boone, NC. She has a Weimaraner pup named Tobie, who is over 10 years old. Her favorite food is ice cream, and she will always accept an offer to get ice cream with friends! She has discovered a love for matching pajama sets since spending so much time in the hospital and enjoys seeing how creative she can get.

“Her surgery to remove the osteosarcoma tumor from her L3 vertebrae is scheduled for 1/30 and will likely take 3-4 full days to complete since it is so invasive and risky. She will remain hospitalized for at least 30 days and then proceed to complete the chemo plan. She will be receiving inpatient chemo again at Duke University Hospital for 20 more weeks once cleared to begin again by her neurosurgeon.

“As a side note, we live 2.5 hours away from Duke, but she receives the best care there. I will use a friend’s condo in Chapel Hill for the next few months to make life easier so I can continue working!”
