Azaria

Azaria

“Azaria was an outstanding student, she attended Sinclair Lane Elementary, Hamilton Middle and was currently enrolled at Baltimore City College High School (Class of 2026). Azaria worked diligently to achieve academic excellence. During her illness she consistently studied, completed class assignments and requested internet service so she could stay connected to her in class robot and schoology (classroom learning app).

“Among her many accomplishments, Azaria was on the Principal’s List, Honor Roll, and prior to her illness that started in 2022, Azaria only missed 1 day of school from pre k through the 7th grade. Azaria loved to look at Netflix, crochet, draw, read, dance, cook, listen to her favorite R&B artist Brent Faiyaz and play Sims (video game). In addition, Azaria absolutely loved to dance on TikTok!!!”

-Azaria’s father, Carl, describing Azaria

Azaria was 14 when she was initially diagnosed with leukemia. In January 2023, she relapsed. As her disease was getting worse, Azaria was hospitalized and her parents spent every moment they could by her bedside. This meant leaving work, which made it difficult for them to meet monthly household needs. JUST TRYAN IT was able to provide a Deep Needs Grant to Azaria’s family to help pay for her father’s mortgage and car payments.
