My name is Danielle and I am a childhood cancer survivor. I was diagnosed with ALL T-Cell Leukemia when I was 11 1/2 years old. My diagnosis came the summer after my first year in middle school and treatment lasted for 2 1/2 years following that day. There were lots of ups and downs during my treatment, some were medical, some were school related, some were social and some were personal. However, I had a strong family support system. My life now, in a way, has come full circle. I now work as an art therapist in a children’s hospital where I interact mainly with the oncology patients. I hope in some way I am able to use my past experience as a patient to better their cancer journey.
