Simone was just 2 years old when she was diagnosed with pilocytic astrocytoma. She was treated with chemotherapy, surgery and cyber knife radiation. It was a long journey with some complications and set-backs. She is stable and doing very well. She was unable to attend school for two years when she was in elementary school because of her complications. Now she is graduating middle school and will be starting high school in the fall. Simone has had a lot of challenges to cope with over the years and has always tried to keep her spirits up. She likes her doctor and staff at Georgetown and eagerly participated in art therapy and Hope for Henry parties in clinic (especially Halloween, Superhero and Glamour make-over parties). Simone definitely believes in having a good time whenever you can. Simone and her family love JUST TRYAN IT and really appreciate all that JUST TRYAN IT does for children and families with cancer.
