Scott

2016 Update
Seven-year-old, Scott, had a typical childhood until he was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia at age 3. Going through chemotherapy wasn’t always easy. He had countless hospital visits and medical procedures and took more than 1,500 pills over the course of his nearly 3 ½ years of treatment. He also experienced many side effects that caused him to feel weak and nauseous, as well as lose his hair, muscle tone, and the ability to live a more normal life. Scott’s determination and positive energy inspired others to keep on going even when faced with some of life’s toughest challenges.

We are delighted that as the 1-year anniversary of Scott’s completion of treatment approaches, he is now living a full and happy life that involves going to school for the first time, martial arts, and actively serving as an advocate for childhood cancer patients and survivors. Scott is thrilled to be able to participate in his first JUST TRYAN IT race on May 1 in Chapel Hill, NC!
