Karalyne was 12 weeks old when she was diagnosed with AML in February 2018. Her parents have six other children, three of which primarily live with them and the other three who visit regularly. Their ages range from 9 years to 16 years, and the Sahady parents are financially responsible for them all.

Karalyne’s father is self-employed and his work involves traveling. With six children at home and a sick newborn baby in the hospital, he has not been able to travel as needed. Karalyne’s mother has not returned back to work yet after her maternity leave. Her employment situation is unstable at this time due to Karalyne’s diagnosis.

Utilizing JUST TRYAN IT funds, a grant was immediately issued to directly pay the rent and car payment for their family, providing some relief as they focus on Karalyne’s care.
