JoJo, the Chapel Hill Face of the Race (pictured above), has battled cancer on and off since he was a year old. His energy, positivity and zest for life inspired all of us at the race on Sunday. JoJo and his family have been through so much and they keep fighting. The image above captures the heart and soul of JUST TRYAN IT and we will keep fighting for JoJo and so many kids like him whose families struggle during their child’s cancer treatment.
We had 330 kids race with us on Sunday and we raised $169,831 exceeding our 2023 fundraising by over $25,000. Thank you to our racers, volunteers, sponsors and donors for getting us across the finish line.
A special shout out to the 26 racers who raised more than $1,000 each. These STAR Supporters used their creativity and passion to generate donations. We also want to recognize the largest team, Triangle Day School for Brij, with 65 members. This team raced to honor their classmate, Brij (pictured below), who was diagnosed with colon cancer earlier this year.
Race weekend is filled with many stories of grit, resilience, determination and joy. Thank you.
