Lake Hogan Farms community maintains safe social distance while racing in the virtual triathlon, May 3, 2020!
Dear JUST TRYAN IT Community,
On Sunday over 320 people from across seven states participated in JUST TRYAN IT’s first virtual triathlon. The majority of these racers were from our Chapel Hill, North Carolina race community. Families and neighborhoods throughout the Triangle area chalked out race routes, invited neighbors to cheer and challenged themselves to complete their triathlon.
One wonderful thing about the virtual race is that it is open to everyone. We had racers from age 6 to 60! The creativity of our racers was inspiring, one girl led her friends in a Zoom yoga and one volunteer completed an Olympic distance triathlon.
The support of our community as we pivoted to virtual races is fantastic. Thanks to the support of our team captains, race committee, sponsors and racer families we raised over $50,000 for families fighting cancer at UNC and Duke. Ensuring they will get the critical financial support they need to stay safe and continue treatment.
I am so excited for our next virtual race on June 21st. I know that our DC and MD communities will come out strong to support the families in their community. We invite all of you, no matter where you live, to race with us on June 21st. Registration is free so sign up today.
Thank you again to the JTI North Carolina community for leading the way and showing us how it is done!
Stay safe, stay strong and stay positive,
