YesKidzCan!’s KidPreneurz Awards Program

This year, JTI is partnering with YesKidzCan!’s KidPreneurz Awards Program. Interested in winning $100 by using entrepreneurism to raise funds for JUST TRYAN IT? The Awards Program provides kids in grades 3-8 with the chance to receive $100 seed money to create a business-like activity by selling a product or service and donating ALL the funds earned to a cause of their choice such as JUST TRYAN IT. Activities can be simple or super imaginative: selling lemonade, washing cars, making bracelets, pet walking or designing coloring books. We are encouraging all our triathletes to apply for these awards! Please get your application in quickly as the reviewers need approximately 2 weeks to review and approve awards. NOTE: $100 needs to be fully applied to entrepreneurial activity and cannot be used directly as a donation. Participants who are awarded a grant will receive a certificate of recognition and their name will be promoted on both the JTI and YesKidzCan! websites. Tip #1

Create and personalize your own fundraising page. The personalized website makes the race and fundraising effort unique to each triathlete. With your individual fundraising page, you can upload photos or tell family and friends a little bit about yourself and your connection with JUST TRYAN IT. The more personal your message, the more your supporters will want to sponsor you. Once you have completed your site, send your exclusive link via email to family and friends. Tip #2

So you’ve delivered your first email to family and friends with great response.  Now  what?  Stay motivated!   Don’t be discouraged if you have little activity on your website over the next couple of weeks.  Stay involved and become passionate about JUST TRYAN IT.  Don’t forget that every dollar you raise goes directly to help provide financial assistance to a family fighting childhood cancer.   Check your website from time to time and read some of the comments family and friends have posted.  Setting your own personal and realistic fundraising goal also provides a great incentive to stay on track.   If you need to send out a reminder email, now is the time to do it!  Good luck!
