I first participated in JUST TRYAN IT in 2011. One year I raced in honor of a boy named Jamal who had been fighting cancer. It motivated me to race harder knowing I was helping someone I met. It also helped motivate me to raise money. We have raised money through theJUST TRYAN IT website, and telling our story about whyJUST TRYAN IT is important to us. The feeling at the finish line is great, especially after the long course race. The enthusiastic DJ is always a highlight too. I like that the money we raise helps children at Georgetown Hospital because the hospital took good care of me. I would recommend JUST TRYAN IT to my friends because it’s a fun experience before, during and after the race. And, it’s cool that it’s a triathlon because a lot of people have never done a triathlon.
